The West Coast of Vancouver Island has been very hot for
salmon and halibut the last couple of years and Ucluelet
is one hot fishing spot!
Ucluelet is one fishing spot
on the west coast that has not seen a decline in limits
for fish like other places around British Columbia. In
the last few years the fishing seems to be getting better
every year.
With a plethora of salmon and halibut, it is common
to go out and catch a 150 litre cooler full of salmon
and halibut. While out on the boat keep on eye out for
whales as you often see Gray Whales and Humpback whales.
It is not uncommon to see humpback whale come bolting
out of the water on the horizen without any warning.
You can also take pictures of the whales in amongst
the islands either while fishing or on a whale tour.
