Salmon Fishing Port Hardy

Port Hardy and the North Island have been popular places to fish for quite some time.

If you are looking for some early Halibut fishing in the year, than Port Hardy can be great place to come. With Halibut starting to run earlier than many fishing spots, this place is great to load up on Halibut.

Driving to the North end of Vancouver Island can take longer than most people would think, though it is a beautiful drive. You can usually bet on a 6-7 hour drive from Nanaimo, and if you are towing a boat, then count a little more time. The roads past Port McNeil are just a little windy and bumpy.

On the way to the North part of Vancouver Island, make sure you stop and do a little whale watching in Telegraph Cove, home to the Orca Whales.
